About Sterling Care Homes Ltd

The concept of Sterling Care Homes Ltd was born out of a deep desire - one that recognised the increasing need for specialist care homes that would deliver significant improvements to the quality of life of older people rather than institutionalise them. Our aim was, and continues to be, to provide the quality of care that would be good enough for a member of our own family—a type of care that promotes living without losing one’s independence or giving up lifestyle choices to live in a secure environment.

Sterling Care Homes Ltd has a well established reputation in the community as one of the better homes in Paisley. Our philosophy of care, the company’s commitment to the service users and a motivated workforce have all contributed to further enhancing the company’s reputation as one of the leading innovators in the elderly care sector achieving many milestones. We have become an integral part of the care home industry, working in unison with health and social services and our other industry counterparts, to provide innovate approaches to care that allow our residents to attain their optimum level and live with dignity and independence. Our goal is to sustain and encourage the independence and happiness of our residents and we are committed to enabling people to grow older with dignity, and a sense of security.  The Chairman’s regular articles in media raise awareness on elderly care issues emphasising his commitment to the cause. Our sister company Lambhill Court Ltd has proudly hosted two royal visits, entertained a host of celebrities and has organised two centenarian events – acknowledging Glasgow’s centenarian’s. First in 1999 in one of our care homes, then in 2004 in conjunction with Glasgow City Council in the City Chambers.

We are always conscious that there are many such establishments competing for business, hence it is imperative that our approach to caring for this client group is progressive and ahead of our competitors. Care homes by definition are homes as opposed to an extension of NHS continuing care wards. Therefore, we aim to create a homely environment, enable service users to do as much for themselves for as long as possible.

Sterling Care Homes Ltd recognise that for a company to get by – and beyond that -excel in a competitive business environment, it must have more than just a long history and vast expertise. Success depends on many factors. And one of the most important factors for Lambhill Court’s long-term success is the continued support from all the staff, team of professional business advisors, numerous community supports and our clients and their families.

The senior mangagement team believe that all similar establishments provide good care, but the difference between a good home and a lesser one is very minimal. Staff are therefore encouraged and supported to achieve a higher standard in order to ensure the home continues to remain ahead of its competitors. We have to continuously adapt to change and to respond to market situations, accordingly we are pursuing other segments within the market, i.e. enhanced residential care. The care home market is wide open and we believe in being able to provide all levels in care.
